The "Earth Drop" Soliflore: When ceramics green up your walls.

We often think about decorating our walls with posters, mirrors, or sconces. But we rarely think about flowers. Yet, nature isn't meant to just sit on a table!
Karine Lanny, the creator of Monochromic, has envisioned a solution of absolute poetry: the Goutte de Terre (Earth Drop). More than a vase, it's a small ceramic pouch hung on the wall, ready to hold a stem, a twig, or a single flower. It's the art of "Less is More."

    1. An organic and sensual design

The encounter between the drop of water and the terracotta.

The name "Goutte de Terre" (Drop of Earth) is a clever play on words. It evokes both the shape of the object – a drop of water frozen in its fall – and the raw material: natural clay.
Handmade in the south of France, this soliflore has soft, generous curves. Unlike a classic vase that is placed (static), the Goutte de Terre seems to float. It brings immediate fluidity to an overly linear decoration.

Available in a matte finish (for a raw look) or an enameled finish (for a touch of light).

    2. The Art of the Soliflore: What to Put in It?

    Fresh flowers or dried flowers?

The beauty of a single stem
The principle of a soliflore is to highlight a single flower. Don't try to fit a bouquet into it!

    • Durable Option (Dried Flowers): This is the big trend. A stem of Pampas grass, Lagurus (bunny tail), Eucalyptus, or Craspedia (the yellow balls). It's graphic, requires no maintenance, and no water.
    • Freshness Option: The ceramic is watertight (especially the glazed versions). You can put a little water in it for a tulip in spring or a mimosa branch in winter.
« The wall becomes a landscape. With a few drops, we draw a vegetal rain inside the house. »

    3. How to install them? (Individually or in groups)

In a duo or trio: As with swallows, the effect is amplified by accumulation. Place three drops at different heights, slightly offset, to create rhythm.

Color mix: The Monochromic color palette is superb. Combine a Terracotta drop (raw earth) with a Meudon White or Ultramarine Blue drop. The matte and glossy shades complement each other very well.

Easy installation: A single nail is sufficient. The object is designed to lie perfectly flat against the wall without tilting, even with a slightly tall flower.

    Is ceramic waterproof?
Yes, the Gouttes de Terre are glazed on the inside to ensure they are watertight. You can therefore pour water into them for fresh flowers without risking staining your wall. Just be careful not to overfill them to avoid overflow when inserting the stem.
What size flower should I choose?
Play with the scale! The Drop measures approximately 12-15 cm. A very long stem (30-40 cm) will create a very graphic and modern effect. A short stem will give it a more "jewelry-like" and discreet look.
