Description

The Charolles Glouglou Pitcher embodies the perfect blend of functional poetry and exceptional craftsmanship. This fish-shaped carafe transforms the simple act of pouring into a true sound choreography, where each stream of water becomes music.

Hand-crafted in the historic workshops of Burgundy, the Glouglou Pitcher is much more than a table accessory: it's a conversation piece, a designer vase that exudes timeless elegance. Offered here in the Dune Brillant shade, it features a satin finish that plays with light. Made of noble ceramic, this pitcher boasts the characteristic slender and refined body that harmoniously blends with any prestigious interior. Available in six signature colors, it stands as a masterpiece of contemporary French design.

The Charolles 1844 brand

Since 1844, the Manufacture de Charolles has perpetuated the Burgundian ceramic heritage in Saône-et-Loire. Founded by Hippolyte Prost on a clay-rich land, this historic faience factory combines traditional craftsmanship with creative daring. Each piece is born from expertise passed down from generation to generation, confirming the 100% Made in France nature of each of its creations.

Entirely handcrafted, the Glouglou Pitcher stands out for its superior quality ceramic and meticulous enameling. The Dune Brillant finish offers a smooth and brilliant surface that delicately captures ambient light. Its poetic shape is not merely ornamental: each curve responds to a structural intention, while the narrow, elaborate neck produces the famous "glouglou" sound when pouring. Six available shades allow for perfect integration into your decorative palette: from Pinky Pink to Ink Black, from transparent Olive to the warmth of Cinnamon.

On an elegant table or a designer console, the Glouglou Pitcher stands out as a living sculpture. Fill it with dried flowers for a minimalist display, or let it play the role of a graphic vase. Its vertical thrust structures the space, while its brilliant finish creates sophisticated plays of reflections. An art de la table piece by essence, it dialogues with fine porcelain and crystal glasses to compose an exceptional setting. A true decorative statement, it becomes the focal point of a thoughtful interior vignette.

Questions Fréquentes

Is the Glouglou Carafe dishwasher safe?
Although earthenware is glazed and resistant, we recommend hand washing to preserve the brilliance of the "Dune Brillant" finish in the long term and to avoid violent thermal shocks.
Why doesn't my carafe make a glugging sound?
For the "glug-glug" to work, the pitcher should not be filled to the brim or be almost empty. The sound is produced by air circulating in the fish's tail. Pour generously but without rushing all the liquid at once. The charm usually works when the pitcher is half full.
Can hot beverages be put in it?
No, it's earthenware designed for cold or temperate liquids (water, wine, juice). Avoid boiling water (tea, coffee) which could create a thermal shock and crack the glaze.
Where can I buy a genuine Glouglou Carafe in Brittany?
Beware of imitations! At Maison Archibald, we distribute authentic pitchers from Faïencerie de Charolles, stamped and made in France. Available in store or for delivery in the Rennes/Vitré area.
