Description

The Glouglou Pitcher from Charolles embodies the quintessence of French ceramic minimalism. This exceptional piece transforms every daily moment into a moment of timeless elegance.

The Glouglou Satin Matte Pitcher from Faïencerie de Charolles 1844 reveals the full subtlety of a rarely mastered finish: a silky white with matte reflections that captures light with infinite softness. Crafted from enameled earthenware, this 25 cm high vase embraces the contours of a slender and refined body. Its generous proportions (L 8 cm x W 10 cm) make it a decorative object that is as functional as it is aesthetic, perfect for flowers or as an empty composition on a console. Every detail reveals French craftsmanship, with a "peach skin" texture that distinguishes the satin matte finish from classic versions. A piece signed by the refined Charolles design, selected by Maison Archibald for lovers of minimalist and timeless decoration.

The Charolles 1844 brand

Founded in 1844 in Saône-et-Loire, the Manufacture de Charolles was born from an exceptional terroir, rich in pure clay. Hippolyte Prost then took over the family workshop and transformed this heritage into a renowned manufactory. For nearly 180 years, Charolles has perpetuated the excellence of French ceramics, combining artisanal tradition and contemporary design. Each piece embodies this philosophy: the purity of forms serving daily life.

In terms of specifications, the Glouglou Pitcher is made of enameled earthenware, a noble material that guarantees durability and unalterable brilliance. The Satin Matte finish represents a choice of refinement: unlike classic glossy, it rejects excessive reflection and favors a discreet and elegant presence. Its dimensions (H 25 cm × L 8 cm × W 10 cm) offer a generous capacity while maintaining an airy silhouette. This exclusively matte white finish remains easy to maintain, compatible with regular use or a purely decorative function. French manufacturing guarantees impeccable quality.

On your dining room table, the Glouglou Pitcher becomes the protagonist of a refined staging: combined with minimalist tableware or dried flowers, it creates a decidedly contemporary universe. In the entryway, on a console or shelf, it dialogues with decorative objects with refined shapes. Its neutral chromaticity in satin matte matches all types of interiors: from Scandinavian to raw design, from Japandi to French. The vase can also accommodate willow branches or grasses, amplifying its contemplative presence. It is less an object than a manifesto of discreet elegance.

Questions Fréquentes

Is matt white easily soiled?
The Satin Matte finish is glazed ceramic, meaning it's non-porous. It won't absorb wine or coffee stains. However, as with any matte white object, greasy fingerprints or lipstick marks may be more visible than on a glossy surface. A simple wipe with a soapy sponge is enough to remove them.
What is the difference between Gloss White and Matt Satin?
Glossy White reflects light like a mirror, giving a very fresh “traditional earthenware” look. Satin Matte absorbs light, offering a more contemporary, softer finish and a very distinctive velvety feel.
Can it be used as an everyday water pitcher?
Yes, that's its primary function! It's robust and designed for serving. Its spout allows for precise pouring of water (with the added sound effect). It's an excellent way to encourage the whole family to drink water at the table.
How to clean the inside of the pitcher?
Due to its curved shape, the inside is not accessible by hand. We recommend rinsing the pitcher with clear water after each use. For a deeper clean, use a mixture of warm water and white vinegar, let it sit for a few minutes, and rinse thoroughly.
