À propos de la pièce

Calypso embodies the subtle fusion of organic sculpture and marine poetry, transforming every interior into a gallery of contemplation. This hand-shaped ceramic shell by Monochromic captures light with timeless elegance, inviting you to slow down and breathe.

The large Calypso model (16 x 17 cm, 0.5 kg) reveals soft yet powerful lines, enhanced by a deep ultramarine blue. Entirely handcrafted, each piece showcases subtle asperities and delicate shadows that make it unique. Its flat back allows for freestanding placement on a sideboard, console, or bookshelf, or harmonious integration into a wall composition. Made of artisanal ceramic, this decoration combines contemporary minimalism and French authenticity.

The Monochromic brand

Founded in Marseille in 2013 by Karine Lanny, Monochromic is a French artisanal ceramic house that reinterprets symbolic objects through a contemporary design perspective. Inspired by Bauhaus and the work of Le Corbusier, the brand reinvents emblematic forms into timeless decorative objects, combining creative passion and French savoir-faire.

Calypso is crafted from ceramic, a noble material guaranteeing durability and tactile richness. The ultramarine blue, while resistant to weathering and UV, may slightly lose its luster under prolonged sun exposure—a characteristic to favor indoors or in the shade to preserve its chromatic intensity. The generous dimensions of the large model (16 cm x 17 cm) make it a centerpiece of decoration, visible and impactful in any type of space.

Placed on a minimalist console, integrated into a wall composition as a designer decoration, or displayed alone on a bookshelf, Calypso adapts to all high-end interior styles. Ideal for lovers of contemporary sculpture, natural decoration, or unique artisanal pieces, it enhances living spaces by bringing depth, texture, and contemplation. Perfect for those seeking an alternative wall decoration or a resolutely contemporary decorative object.

Invest in a French artisanal piece that transcends simple decoration. Calypso Monochromic establishes itself in your interior as a personal signature, a deliberate choice for beauty and authenticity.

Conseils & usage

Questions fréquentes

Retrouvez les réponses essentielles pour choisir, utiliser et entretenir cette pièce.

How can I incorporate the large Ultramarine Blue Calypso shell into my decor?
Decoration: The Outremer Blue brings a strong and very elegant contrast. It pairs perfectly with neutral tones, natural materials (wood, rattan), or other Calypso models in a cluster (by mixing it with the Natural White Small Model, for example) to create a true marine "cabinet of curiosities" effect.
Is the large Ultramarine Blue Calypso model suitable for a bathroom?
Usage: Absolutely! Its design, directly inspired by Art Deco sea baths, and its resistant ceramic material make it a perfect decorative object to enhance a water room. It is not at all afraid of ambient humidity.
How can I securely attach this large shell to the wall?
Mounting: Although it is the Large Model, its installation remains very simple. The back of the piece has a specially designed notch for hanging on a nail or screw securely fixed to the wall (ideally angled slightly upwards).
