Serax x Ottolenghi Mix Sicily 04 Vase: A Sicilian Visual Feast

Transform your decor into a Mediterranean celebration with the Mix Sicily 04 Vase, the explosive result of a collaboration between renowned chef Yotam Ottolenghi and artist Ivo Bisignano for Serax. This centerpiece from the Sicily collection is not just a vase; it's an ode to the joy of life, color, and sunshine. Available at Maison Archibald to brighten interiors in Rennes and Vitré, this sculptural vase embodies the exuberance of Ottolenghi's cuisine materialized as a work of art.

A Reimagined Legend: The Art of the "Testa di Moro"

This vase draws its inspiration from Sicilian folklore, reinvented with a surreal and contemporary touch.

  • Expressive Design: Ivo Bisignano reinterprets the traditional "Moorish Head" vases of Sicily. Here, faces become abstract, deconstructed, almost architectural, crowned with floral or geometric elements (model 04 is particularly graphic).

  • Hand-Painted: Each vase is crafted from enameled stoneware/terracotta and hand-painted. Brushstrokes are visible, vibrant colors overlap, making each piece strictly unique.

  • Ottolenghi's DNA: This vase embodies what makes the chef's dishes so successful: a bold mix of ingredients (here, shapes and colors), boundless generosity, and a "good mood" aesthetic.

A 35 cm Masterpiece

With its generous dimensions, the Sicily 04 Vase makes a statement in any space.

  • Statuesque Format: At 35 cm high, it doesn't go unnoticed. It's the ideal object to sit at the center of a large dining table, on a kitchen island, or in a grand entrance hall.

  • Vase or Sculpture? Even empty, it dresses up the room. Fill it with large branches, colorful wildflowers, or leave it bare to appreciate its singular architecture.

Why choose the Sicily 04 Vase at Maison Archibald?

  • Vitamin Boost: In Brittany, light can sometimes be scarce. This vase is an antidote to gloom. It brings immediate solar energy to your decor.

  • Collector's Item: A collaboration between a great chef, an artist, and a Belgian publishing house means this is a design piece with a story to tell.

  • Careful Delivery: As a fragile and precious work of art, we ensure meticulous preparation for secure delivery in Rennes, Vitré, and throughout France.

Conseils & usage

Questions fréquentes

Retrouvez les réponses essentielles pour choisir, utiliser et entretenir cette pièce.

Is this vase waterproof?
Yes, the inside of the vase is glazed to guarantee its watertightness and to accommodate fresh flowers. However, to protect your antique furniture, we always recommend checking for condensation under the vase during the first few uses, or using a small, discreet protective mat.
Are the colors exactly as pictured?
As stated, each vase is hand-painted. Therefore, there may be slight variations in the intensity of the colours or the tracing of the patterns compared to the catalogue photo. This is what makes the value and authenticity of craftsmanship: you own a unique piece.
Who is Ivo Bisignano?
Ivo Bisignano is an Italian artist and designer, a close friend of Yotam Ottolenghi. He illustrates the graphic universe of the Ottolenghi brand. His vision is imbued with his native Sicily, which he translates here into joyful and nostalgic forms.
How do I clean this vase?
Given its hand-painted finish and size, dishwashing is not recommended. Opt for gentle hand washing with lukewarm water and a soft cloth to preserve the brilliance of the enamelled colours.
